James Gibson

Mr. Gibson has seven years of non-profit and for-profit work experience across North America, Africa, and Asia. This experience includes financial planning oversight, budgeting, internal auditing, and the implementation of financial control systems for projects in numerous developing countries; monitoring and evaluating poverty alleviation projects in Ghana; and directing some of the largest microfinance programs in Central Asia. His on the ground development experience involves a wide range of business development, rural economic support, and entrepreneurial support activities. His for-profit experience includes managing the start up of operations in China for a major import/export company. Most recently, Mr. Gibson was advising the development of a microfinance company in Afghanistan. Mr. Gibson was educated at the University of South Carolina, where he received a master’s of international business studies focusing on international project management and strategy; the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, where he focused on structuring joint ventures; and Washington University, where he received degrees in Business Administration and Engineering. Mr. Gibson, a US national, is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, and has knowledge of French and Russian.
